Jump Start Tutoring was founded in 1998 to assist students, as well as their parents, cope with today’s challenging and ever-changing academic climate. In this respect, JST has become an essential aid to families helping to prepare, not only for subject or college exams, but for the entire process of selecting a college.

While we focus primarily on in person tutoring, if a student is sick or cannot get transportation to the office, or inclement weather, we provide remote access for FaceTime/Zoom tutoring.

From the first day we met with Matt he was very prepared and helped us put together a plan to assist our daughter in preparing for her SAT exam. The tutors that worked with her were extremely helpful in building her confidence, providing strategies to improve her testing skills and were very invested in her overall success. We highly recommend this ACT review course to anyone preparing for the exam. The lessons were well organized, easy to follow, and focused on the concepts that actually appear on the test. The instructors (Abhik and Panika) explained difficult topics clearly and shared helpful strategies for managing time and answering questions efficiently.

The practice tests and review materials helped our daughter identify her strengths and improve in other areas. She felt confident going into the ACT because she knew what to expect and had effective test-taking strategies. Overall, this course was a great investment, and we would recommend it to other families/students who want to improve their ACT scores.

We have sent four of our daughters through Jump Start over a 10 year span. They were excellent and professional. Oldest daughter got into NYU and is now in medical school. Second daughter got into Fordham’s Gabelli Global Business school, worked for JP Morgan and now applying to law school. The third one got into the ischool at Syracuse University and just got accepted to her Ernst and Young internship for cyber risk management this summer. And our last one got a 30 on her first attempt ACT (8 point jump from baseline). She plans to take it two more times. The secret is for your child to work hard with the tutor and complete all assigned work. If your child works hard, you can’t go wrong with JumpStart.
